THE HISTORY OF ANSAR CAPACITORS
ANSAR began in 1991 as a spinout of a British professional, military and aerospace film capacitor manufacturer. Manufacturing for military and aerospace require the most stringent controls and tolerances. These same equipment and stringent controls, it was soon discovered created capacitors of outstanding audio characteristics.
ANSAR’s manufacturing capabilities allow us to create capacitors form 0.1 µF to 330µF with operating voltages of 100Vdc to 1,25KVdc. Our standard tolerance is 5%, however, all our capacitors can be made down to the exceptional close tolerance of 0.1%.
Every component leaving our laboratory is checked for: Value, Tolerance, Dissipation(loss angle) and are voltage proofed up to 50% above the rated working voltage.
COLLABORATIVELY DESIGNED FOR HIGH-END AUDIO
Our capacitors are the result of collaborative research and development with loudspeaker manufacturers in the High-End audio industry. We’ve aimed to create the most acoustically transparent component possible, allowing true sound to emerge unaltered.
The majority of our capacitors are used in cross-over networks, however, we also produce capacitors for Power amplifiers, mains smoothing, Automotive DC links and Electric vehicle power and charging infrastructure.

Metallised Polymer Capacitors are a reliability upgrade alternative to Electrolytic capacitors for use in commercial and industrial equipment. Ansar manufactures: Motor Start, Motor Run, 500V 3-Phase, Flat Packs, Lead-Through capacitors – all with integrated “x” and “y” suppression.
AUTOMOTIVE
Automotive batteries and supercapacitors
Ansar produced on demand; DC Link and Power Factor Correction capacitors components for the automotive industries. Graphene-based supercapacitors, Battery-hybrid capacitors and polymeric film capacitors with printed electrodes are some of our specialised bespoke offerings.
